UBS lists continental Europe and UK mid-cap equity ETFs

UBS has listed two new ETFs on the London Stock Exchange providing exposure to continental European equities and UK mid-caps.

The physically replicated funds provide exposure to continental European equities and UK mid-caps via the MSCI Europe ex UK and FTSE 250 indices, respectively.

The continental Europe product, which has a total expense ratio of 0.20%, complements UBS’s existing ETF tracking the MSCI EMU Index. While this index only includes the 10 countries in the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), the MSCI Europe ex UK extends coverage to 14 of the most important markets in continental Europe.

Similarly, the FTSE 250 product, which comes with a TER of 0.25%, builds out the provider’s coverage of UK equities and complements its existing UK large-cap ETFs linked to the FTSE 100.

Commenting on the launch, Andrew Walsh, Head of UBS ETF Sales UK & Ireland, said: “The new ETFs broaden our extensive product range and continue our aim of responding to our clients’ needs by delivering focused ETF solutions at very competitive prices.”

Sudir Raju, Managing Director at FTSE Group, commented: “The FTSE 250 continues to be the leading benchmark for issuers who are looking to offer exposure to UK mid-cap companies through ETFs. We are delighted to be extending our relationship with UBS through the use of further FTSE indices in their new ETFs.”

Deborah Yang, Managing Director and Head of the MSCI Index business in EMEA and India, said: “The launch of the UBS MSCI Europe-ex UK UCITS ETF further reinforces our close working relationship with UBS in Europe and we are delighted that they have chosen MSCI yet again. This year has been a particularly fruitful year for our collaboration with UBS – earlier this year UBS launched a currency hedged ETF series – also based on MSCI indexes.”

Both ETFs are domiciled in Luxembourg, UCITS-compliant and eligible for inclusion in ISAs and SIPPs. Income is distributed.
