Morningstar reports strong growth in ETF Managed Portfolios AUM

Investment research firm Morningstar has published the latest instalment of its ETF Managed Portfolios Landscape Report. The report, which covers the fourth-quarter of 2017, found that total AUM in the ETF managed portfolios segment increased by 7.0% to $123.0 billion. Charles Schwab Investment Advisory holds the spot at the top of the mountain with over $12.4bn in AUM across 15 strategies.



Deutsche expands quality dividend offering with global ETF

Deutsche Asset Management has launched the Xtrackers Morningstar Global Quality Dividend UCITS ETF (XMGD GR) on Deutsche Börse’s Xetra and Frankfurt exchanges. The fund is the second ETF from Deutsche to track a Morningstar index that provides exposure to dividend-paying stocks from companies screened for robust financial health.

Deutsche Asset Management, part of newly listed DWS Group, has unveiled two new Xtrackers ETFs offering exposure to high-dividend-paying quality stocks. The funds, which target US and global equity markets, have been listed on Deutsche Börse and the London Stock Exchange.

Lyxor launches new ‘Core’ ETF range, with fees as low as 4bps

Lyxor has launched a new range of ‘Core’ ETFs with total expense ratios starting from just 4 basis points. The range is composed of 16 ETFs covering the major equity markets as well as gilts and TIPS on the fixed income side. Four new ETFs have been launched to complement 12 existing, re-badged ETFs whose fees have been cut. Arnaud Llinas, head of ETFs and indexing at Lyxor, said, “Investors tell us they want simple, high quality ETFs at low costs. We’ve launched our Core range to achieve precisely that.”

Smart beta strategies are becoming a growing part of the asset allocation schemes of financial advisors and wealth managers, according to a survey from index provider FTSE Russell. Rolf Agather, managing director of North America research at FTSE Russell, said, “The results of our second smart beta advisor survey show that there is continued and growing popularity of smart beta strategies among retail advisors. There is also a significant opportunity for growth in the wealth market but more education is needed.”

Three Vanguard ETFs switch indices to align with MSCI's sector changes

Investment research firm Morningstar has published the latest instalment of its ETF Managed Portfolios Landscape Report. The report, which covers the third-quarter of 2017, found that total assets under management in the ETF managed portfolios segment increased 7.5% to $115.0 billion. Vanguard retained its position at the top of the mountain with over $9.1bn in AUM across 44 strategies.



First Trust Eurozone AlphaDEX ETF passes €100m milestone

The First Trust Eurozone AlphaDEX UCITS ETF (FEUZ LN) has grown to over €100 million in AUM three years after launch. The ETF, which provides smart beta exposure to eurozone stocks with growth and value characteristics, has also been awarded a coveted five-star Morningstar Rating based on a risk- and cost-adjusted analysis of fund performance compared to similar eurozone large-cap equity funds. Derek Fulton, CEO at First Trust Global Portfolios, commented: “We believe this demonstrates the true flexibility of the ETF structure to deliver alpha for investors.”

BlackRock has launched the iShares US Dividend and Buyback ETF (DIVB US) on Cboe ETF Marketplace, providing access to US equities with a history of dividend payments, share buybacks or both. Martin Small, head of US iShares at BlackRock, commented: “We believe all investors should evaluate DIVB as a complement, or wholesale replacement, for the traditional high dividend or dividend growth allocation.”
