Aussie ETF issuer BetaShares, together with global asset manager Legg Mason, have launched two actively managed ETFs on Australian Stock Exchange. Based on investment strategies by Legg Mason affiliate Martin Currie Australia, both funds target high-quality Australian securities with a focus on income generation.

Legg Mason launches international high dividend low volatility ETF

Global asset manager Legg Mason has launched a new smart beta exchange-traded fund targeting exposure to international equities with high dividend yields, low price and earnings volatility and a currency hedge for adverse exchange rate movements against the US dollar. The Legg Mason International Low Volatility High Dividend ETF (Bats: LVHI) tracks income-producing equity securities with low price and earnings volatility from developed markets outside of the US across a range of market capitalizations that are included in the MSCI World ex-US IMI Index.

Details within the filings indicate that the new funds, which will be part of the firm’s ‘LibertyQ’ range, will track rules-based indices calculated by MSCI.

Legg Mason launches international high dividend low volatility ETF

Legg Mason, a global asset management firm, has unveiled its debut exchange-traded fund line-up of four outcome-oriented index-based ETFs launched in partnership with its investment affiliate QS Investors. The four ETFs are branded under the Legg Mason name and began trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market on December 29, 2015. Rick Genoni, Head of the ETF business at Legg Mason, said: “We are excited to begin building our ETF offering and will continue to identify ways in which we can capitalize on the investment strengths of the Legg Mason investment affiliates.” The firm plans to launch additional ETF products in the coming months.
