Deutsche adds two Xtrackers ETFs to Schwab’s commission-free platform

Deutsche Asset Management has lowered the expense ratios of two Xtrackers ETFs within its suite of high dividend equity funds. Fiona Bassett, global co-head of passive asset management in the Americas, commented, “With interest rates globally currently at low levels, equities paying higher dividend rates could be an attractive option to meet ongoing income requirements within portfolios.”

Horizons ETFs Management US has launched the Horizons Cadence Hedged US Dividend Yield ETF (USDY US) on Cboe ETF Marketplace. Co-managed with Cadence Capital Management, USDY is an actively managed multi-factor ETF that invests in US large-cap dividend payers while offering downside protection through the use of an option overlay strategy.

Metaurus Advisors has launched two new ETFs on NYSE Arca. These funds have effectively stripped the dividend stream and the potential for capital growth of S&P 500 constituents into two seperate components and packaged each component into its own ETF. Bullish outlook for dividends bodes well for high income ETFs

The findings of a report by IHS Markit could mean high dividend ETFs are in for a strong year. The IHS Markit Dividend Forecasting Report predicts that 2018 will be the third consecutive year of increasing global dividends and will also see the fastest dividend growth since 2014. Emerging markets are expected to lead the way. Thomas Matheson, head of dividend research at IHS Markit, commented, “We expect to see stronger performance across sectors, coupled with resurgent growth in Europe and a notable decrease in dividend cuts.”

Fidelity International has introduced currency-hedged share classes for three of its London-listed smart beta income ETFs. Investors will now have the option of currency hedging with pound sterling on the Fidelity Europe Quality Income UCITS ETF (FEQP LN), Fidelity US Quality Income UCITS ETF (FUSP LN), and Fidelity Global Quality Income UCITS ETF (FGQP LN).

Deutsche Asset Management (Deutsche AM) has launched three new USD high-yield bond ETFs on the NYSE Arca, each offering investors different credit and interest-rate risk exposures. Fiona Bassett, Deutsche AM’s Head of Passive Asset Management, Americas, stated “Our expanded Xtrackers suite of high yield bond ETFs uses rules-based strategies to provide exposure to different levels of credit and interest rate risk, allowing investors to manage credit and duration exposure for a more customized solution.”
