WisdomTree sees sentiment in eurozone risk assets improving

Sentiment in Eurozone risk assets has improved. Macron’s pro-EU and pro-growth reform agenda and EU regulators’ swift intervention to deal with weak lenders and bad loans are a major driving force to sustain it. A softer version of UK’s exit from the EU also means UK risk sentiment should stay upbeat as uncertainty over trade and capital flows is reduced.



Morningstar and Euronext launch new Europe equity indices

Euronext launches European family-run business index

Morningstar has teamed up with Euronext to launch two new indices, the Morningstar Eurozone 50 Index and the Morningstar Developed Markets Europe 100 Index, providing exposure to large-cap European equities. The launch follows the announcement of a strategic agreement between Euronext and Morningstar in March 2017.



Pacer agrees deal to use Citi indices for future ETFs

Exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded products listed in Europe gathered $10.6 billion of net inflows during June 2017, bringing total assets under management within the European ETF/ETP industry to $686bn, according to ETF industry consultant ETFGI. The strong net gatherings marked the 34th consecutive month of positive net inflows for the region.

Lyxor has launched two new ETFs, the Lyxor FTSE USA Core Infrastructure Capped UCITS ETF (LON: BILD) and the Lyxor FTSE Developed Europe Core Infrastructure Capped UCITS ETF (LON: MAKE), tracking companies from the US and European infrastructure sectors respectively. According to Lyxor, the ETFs may offer investors a steady source of income which is less sensitive to short-term market cycles and hedged against inflation.

Ossiam has reported that the Ossiam Shiller Barclays CAPE US Sector Value UCITS ETF (LON: UCAP) passed the $1 billion AUM milestone in June. The ETF uses the cyclically adjusted price-to-earnings (CAPE) ratio, developed jointly by Barclays and Nobel Prize-winning economist Professor Robert Shiller, as a valuation driver in a sector rotational strategy. Professor Shiller said: “I feel grateful to the people at Ossiam and at Barclays for the careful work they have done to make the CAPE products a reality for so many people.”
