EMEA-listed ETFs gather $8bn in October, reports BlackRock

BlackRock cross-lists five iShares fixed income ETFs to SIX

EMEA-listed ETFs recorded net inflows of $7.8 billion in October, according to research from BlackRock. Equity ETFs dominated again with $6.3bn of the net new assets while fixed income ETFs gained $1.1bn. Net new assets for ETFs in the region in the year-to-date now stand at $81bn, already greater than the previous full calendar year record set in 2015.

SIX reports slowdown in ETF turnover

SIX Swiss Exchange reported a 13.7% drop in Q3 ETF trading volumes compared to Q2, with the majority of the decrease accounted for by equity ETFs, after the benchmark Swiss Market Index SMI traded sideways for much of the quarter. The year-on-year decline was a relatively modest 3.6%.

Franklin Templeton unveils passive ETF line-up linked to FTSE indices

Franklin Templeton has unveiled its first fully passive ETFs, including 14 single-country and two regional funds. The ETFs, which track market cap-weighted indices designed by FTSE Russell, are scheduled to be listed on NYSE Arca on 6 November 2017. Patrick O’Connor, global head of ETFs for Franklin Templeton, said: “Our new suite of passive ETFs will provide a cost-effective way to access beta solutions, further rounding out our offerings for US investors.”

Vanguard cross-lists entire UCITS ETF range on Deutsche Börse

Vanguard has expanded its offering in Germany after cross-listing its entire range of European-domiciled ETFs on Deutsche Börse. The suite of 23 ETFs includes 13 market-cap weighted equity funds, six fixed income funds and four smart beta equity funds. Sean Hagerty, head of Europe at Vanguard, commented, “We are very excited to be bringing our value proposition to Germany.”
