Franklin Templeton lists ETFs on SIX Swiss Exchange

Franklin Templeton has extended its reach into Europe by cross-listing five smart beta ETFs on the SIX Swiss Exchange. The ETFs, targeting global, US, or European equities, are part of the Franklin Liberty Shares range and consist of multi-factor and quality income strategies. They are already available on the London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Börse and Borsa Italiana.

Da Vinci Capital, an emerging markets asset manager with offices in Moscow and Hong Kong, has entered the European ETF market with the launch of two Russia-focused ETFs. Elio Manca, managing director of ITI Funds, commented, “The funds provide efficient entry, with diverse exposure to direct securities, into the Russian equity and bond markets at the low point of economic cycle in Russia.”

Many investors may have only a qualitative understanding of the ability of passive fund managers to track the returns of a fixed-income index. Our analysis uses tracking error to provide a quantitative measure of the ease – or difficulty – of consistently tracking an index. We find generally low to moderate tracking error across broad parts of the bond market. Our analysis also suggests that less liquid and higher volatility sectors (such as high yield) tend to have higher tracking error.

Franklin Templeton Investments has added four new ETFs to its line-up of passively managed country and regional funds, introducing exposures to equities listed in India, Russia, Asia Pacific ex-Japan, and Switzerland.
