Newly formed exchange-traded fund issuer Strategy Shares has launched two actively managed funds on NYSE. The ETFs are part of an offering by Strategy Shares, previously branded Huntington Strategy Shares of US-based Huntington Bank, to give investors access to alternative strategies via ETFs.

The Strategy Shares EcoLogical Strategy ETF (HECO) invests in global companies that are well positioned to adapt to changing environmental legislation and social awareness.

The Strategy Shares EcoLogical Strategy ETF (HECO) uses ecologically-focused criteria to identify US and foreign companies that have positioned their business to respond to increased environmental legislation, cultural shifts towards environmentally conscious consumption, and capital investments in environmentally oriented projects.

The fund’s mandate allows for a maximum investment of 35% of the portfolio’s total value in the equities of non-US companies. The fund seeks to provide superior returns compared to the MSCI ACWI Total Return Index. There is a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.95%.

The Strategy Shares US Equity Rotation Strategy ETF (HUSE) invests in US companies in the S&P Composite 1500 Index, which is comprised of large-, mid-, and small-cap companies, and will shift to various market segments or sectors when market conditions change.

Industry caps of 25% will be applied during the investment process. The benchmark for the fund is the S&P Composite 1500 Index. The fund’s TER is 0.95%.

The EcoLogical Strategy ETF is managed by David Miller and Michael Schoonover, both of Catalyst Funds, a mutual fund company focused on alternative investments. The US Equity Rotation Strategy ETF is managed by Matthew Tuttle, of Tuttle Tactical Management.

Jerry Szilagyi, CEO of Strategy Shares, commented in a statement: “We rebranded this family of funds as Strategy Shares, with the intent of offering investors ETF investments rooted in alternative strategies. As we expand our portfolio of fund offerings, our focus will remain rooted in the brand’s core mission: to offer investors unique, alternative strategies that rely on the expertise of top-performing investment teams.”
