STANLIB launches global ETFs on JSE

South African investment manager STANLIB Index Investments has launched a range of global passive ETFs on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). Each tracks a different international index and is denominated in South African rand. Wehmeyer Ferreira, COO of STANLIB Index Investments, said: “The funds can confidently be used as building blocks for an investor’s portfolio to expand their investment opportunities outside of South Africa in a low cost and transparent manner.”

Deutsche expands ‘yield plus’ suite with USD corporate bond ETF

Deutsche Asset Management has added a new ‘yield plus’ corporate bond ETF to its product line-up with the launch of the Xtrackers iBoxx USD Corporate Bond Yield Plus UCITS ETF (XYLD) on the London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Börse. The fund tracks the Markit iBoxx USD Corporates 1-20 Yield Plus Index, providing exposure to higher yielding, mostly investment-grade, corporate bonds denominated in US dollars.

Investors shed US equity ETPs as global inflows slow, finds BlackRock

Net inflows into ETPs globally slowed to $6.8 billion in February as investors shed products providing exposure to US equities to the tune of $23.0bn, according to the latest ETP Landscape report from BlackRock. Redemptions for US equity ETPs during the month marked a turnaround for the asset class which had achieved cumulative inflows of $122.5bn over the prior four months.

Global ETF inflows lowest for 21 months, finds ETFGI

ETFs and ETPs gathered $12.4 billion globally in net inflows during February, the lowest monthly amount since May 2016 when net inflows were $10.5bn, according to ETFGI. The relatively subdued flows are a far cry from January – a bumper month for the industry – when ETFs experienced their highest monthly net inflows on record, pulling in $100.6bn.
