Five new exchange-traded funds/exchange-traded products were listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in July, bringing the total number of new ETF/ETP listings this year to 97.

Five new ETFs listed on the London Stock Exchange during July, from issuers ICBC Credit Suisse, iShares, WisdomTree, and Lyxor.

Last month also saw the arrival of a new ETF issuer as Hong Kong-based asset manager ICBC Credit Suisse partnered with WisdomTree to launch the first UCITS ETF tracking the S&P China 500 Index. The ICBCCS WisdomTree S&P China 500 UCITS ETF (CHIN) is the first European-listed ETF to combine exposure to all China equity share classes in a single UCITS fund. It has a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.75%.

iShares listed 2 ETFs with environmental, social and corporate governance factors. The iShares Sustainable MSCI USA SRI UCITS ETF (SUAS) tracks the MSCI USA SRI Index, which includes large and mid-cap companies in the USA. It has a TER of 0.30%. The iShares Sustainable MSCI Emerging Markets SRI UCITS ETF (SUSM) tracks the MSCI Emerging Markets SRI index, which includes large and mid-cap equities across 23 emerging market countries. The ETF has a total expense ratio of 0.35%. Both ETFs will only invest in companies with MSCI ESG ratings of BB or higher.

WisdomTree launched the WisdomTree Eurozone Quality Dividend Growth UCITS ETF (EGRA), which tracks an in-house Quality Dividend Growth index that targets firms considered likely to increase their dividend payouts in the future. The fund uses a smart beta weighting methodology, favouring firms with higher aggregate cash dividends paid over the prior annual cycle. It has a TER of 0.29%.

Lyxor listed the Lyxor UCITS ETF FTSE 100-Monthly Hedged C-USD (100H), tracking the FTSE 100 TR Index, while offsetting the impact of monthly variations of the index local currency versus the US dollar. It has a TER of 0.30%.

Total on-exchange value traded for ETFs and other ETPs in July 2016 was £37.1bn, up by 77% compared to July 2015, while total on-exchange value traded for ETFs and ETPs, year to date, is £216.7bn, up by 42% compared to the same period last year.

There are now 894 ETFs (available as 1,344 lines through multi-currency offerings) and 402 ETPs (available as 461 lines) on the LSE.
