Amundi has launched an ETF tracking the S&P 500 EUR Daily Hdg strategy index, on NYSE Euronext in Paris. The fund is designed for European investors seeking to take positions on the broad US equity market, as represented by the S&P 500 Index, without being exposed to adverse currency movements.

ETF Securities invites offers in excess of £1bn

ETF Securities, a leading global player in exchange traded products, has put itself up for sale with a price tag of £1bn. The UK-based firm has over $28bn of client funds under management, of which almost two-thirds is held in physical precious metals – mostly gold – via exchange-traded products. The company’s founder, Graham Tuckwell, potentially stands to make more than £500m from the sale.

UBS launches "risk on" and "risk off" ETNs

UBS has launched a pair of ETNs, linked to the Fisher-Gartman Risk Index, designed to provide investors with a quick and easy way to implement a comprehensive “risk on” or “risk off” trade. The ETNs, which are essentially mirror images of each other, track a basket of 35 securities, including commodities, equities, currencies and bonds, that together represent either risk-on or risk-off positions.

SSgA unveils two new fixed income SPDR ETFs

State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) has announced the launch of two new ETFs: the SPDR Barclays Capital Short Term Treasury ETF and the SPDR Barclays Capital Investment Grade Floating Rate ETF. The launch of these new ETFs, both listed on NYSE Arca, adds to the SPDR fixed income series, which now includes 26 fixed income ETFs across range of fixed income sectors.
