Los Angeles-based Cambria Investment Management has unveiled its seventh exchange-traded fund and first to target the fixed income space. Listed on the NYSE Arca, the newly launched Cambria Sovereign High Yield Bond ETF (SOVB) aims to deliver income and capital appreciation by investing in liquid sovereign and quasi-sovereign bonds with high yield characteristics. “Foreign bonds are the largest asset class in the world, yet are dramatically under-represented in investor portfolios,” said Meb Faber, Chief Investment Officer at Cambria. “Moving away from a market-cap strategy and employing a value lens to foreign government bonds could help investors gain smarter access to income in a yield-starved environment.”

Canadian ETF provider, Horizons ETFs, has launched the Horizons Managed Multi-Asset Momentum ETF (HMA), an actively managed ETF which targets multiple global asset classes based on their momentum characteristics. According to Howard Atkinson, President of Horizons ETFs: “HMA seeks to give Canadian investors optimal risk-adjusted exposure, by not only capturing strong pricing uptrends, but also having a strong focus on risk management, such as moving to cash if there are no observable investment opportunities.”


Cambria targets “most undervalued” markets with global value ETF

Cambria launches actively managed US equity ETF

Cambria Investment Management has rolled out an exchange-traded fund designed to provide exposure to the “most undervalued” developed and emerging market countries. Listed on the NYSE Arca, the Cambria Global Value ETF (GVAL) is linked to the Cambria Global Value Index, a proprietary index of 100 stocks from countries identified by Cambria to be undervalued on a cyclically-adjusted basis. Mebane Faber, Cambria’s Chief Investment Officer, said: “We believe long-term investors should seek a basket of countries trading at a discount to their intrinsic value.”
