Recon Capital Partners, a Connecticut-based investment solution company, has been working with consulting firm Global ETF Advisors to enhance and develop their exchange-traded fund platform into a single-point-solution.

Recon Capital's ETF platform enhancements help smaller firms enter market

Garret Paolella, CEO of Recon Capital.

The Recon Capital ETF Platform aims to support registered investment advisors, hedge funds, mutual fund companies, and asset managers in bringing innovative investment solutions to market through newly launched ETFs. The developments will serve to align Recon Capital’s interests with the ETF issuer by providing exclusive trading and portfolio management along with sales and distribution oversight.

This is a further indication of the growing ‘white-label’ segment of the ETF market whereby established firms use their infrastructure and expertise to help smaller companies bring their ETF ideas to market in a cost effective manner. The experienced ETF provider builds the fund and allows the sponsoring company to brand it with their ‘label’ upon its launch.

The project has been driven by Founder and Principal of Global ETF Advisors, Richard Keary.

“Recon Capital has designed a single-point-solution ETF platform that goes beyond what is currently offered in the marketplace,” said Mr. Keary. “Recon Capital is focused on building partnerships with its clients who are collectively looking to raise assets and create innovative investment products. Recon Capital executives Garrett Paolella and Kevin Kelly are not just attracting high quality investment managers; they are creating their own first-rate investment management firm, and I am excited to join this team.”

Recon Capital have several successful launches of their own ETFs under their belt including funds such as the Nasdaq 100 Covered Call ETF (QYLD), the DAX Germany ETF (DAX) and the FTSE 100 ETF (UK). Mr Keary is now tasked with translating the operational efficiencies created through the management of these launches to an effective solution for investment managers looking to launch their own branded ETFs. His previous experience includes seven years working with Nasdaq, strengthening the exchange’s ETF listing business.

Commenting on the appointment of Mr. Keary to the role, Garret Paolella, CEO of Recon Capital said: “Richard’s impressive, intangible background as an exchange executive and industry consultant makes him the optimal person to be involved with this platform, which we designed to build partnerships, assets and scale to reduce the costs to our clients. We look forward to utilizing our ETF platform to partner with best-in-breed investment managers who share our desire to create innovative investment solutions.”
